Since the 1970s, I’ve dedicated myself to the art and discipline of martial arts—not just as a physical practice, but as a powerful tool for confidence, resilience, and transformation. In 1987, I turned that passion into a full-time mission by opening my own martial arts school. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding thousands of students—from energetic four-year-olds to wise 88-year-olds—helping them develop personally, build character, and cultivate discipline and life skills that last well beyond the mat. But my journey didn’t stop there. Throughout my career, I’ve taken on roles in corporate leadership, represented global companies like RJ Reynolds and Imperial Chemical Industries, served as a professional with Allstate Insurance, and launched multiple successful businesses. Each experience taught me something new—but no matter the path, I’ve always returned to what fulfills me most: teaching, mentoring, and empowering others. The most rewarding moments continue to come from hearing former students—many of whom I taught as children—share how the lessons they learned years ago still shape their lives today. Their stories inspire me and reaffirm the lifelong value of purpose-driven teaching. Now, with Life Empowerment with Accent, I’m expanding that mission to a wider audience. The word Accent in our name reflects the rich blend of Eastern and Western influences that have shaped my approach to teaching and life.
